There was a message on-screen that I guess told me what to do to recover my existing settings, but of course I didn't read it thoroughly. So I downloaded the new configurations and now all of a sudden dozens of my custom "Print" settings have disappeared from the menu. I had been carefully trying to build a good configuration for printing with a 0.8mm nozzle in place, using supports, and really want to have all of my work back on screen and available. There is a file folder in %user%/app data/roaming/slic3r PE/print with all of my saved configurations; how can I get Slic3r PE to look at this folder and show me the options again?I don't have an MMU.EDIT - see my last post. There is a "switch" to turn on display of all the configurations. And many of my configurations were being hidden for no good reason; I've edited one line in each of them (using Slic3r) and now they are all visible. If you’re new to the hobby or just starting out with your 3D printer, you may have heard of a software called Slic3r. Slic3r is a powerful tool that allows you to convert your 3D models into printable files by slicing them into thin layers. One of the key settings you can adjust in Slic3r is the infill, which determines the internal structure of your prints. In this article, we will guide you through the process of changing the infill in Slic3r, allowing you to optimize your prints for strength, time, or material usage. Before we dive into the specifics of changing the infill in Slic3r, it’s important to note that the infill plays a crucial role in the overall quality and functionality of your 3D prints. The infill is the internal structure that fills the empty spaces within your print, providing support and strength to the object. By adjusting the infill, you can achieve different characteristics in your prints, such as increased strength, reduced print time, or material savings. To change the infill in Slic3r, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps. First, you’ll need to prepare your printer by ensuring it’s properly calibrated and set up. Then, you’ll launch Slic3r and load your 3D model. From there, you can adjust the infill settings, including the infill percentage and pattern. Finally, you’ll preview and save the sliced file, ready to be sent to your printer. Now that we have a brief overview of what to expect, let’s get started on changing the infill in Slic3r!Key Takeaways:Customize the infill in Slic3r to make 3D prints stronger, lighter, or more efficient by adjusting the infill percentage and pattern. Prepare your printer, launch Slic3r, and experiment with different settings to achieve optimal results.Master the art of changing infill in Slic3r to enhance 3D printing. Mac/LinuxOn Mac and Linux the user's data library and settings are in ~/.local/share/MatterControl. This is a hidden folder in your user's home folder.MatterControl Touch T10 or T7Follow these steps: Swipe down from the top right of the screen twice to bring up the Quick Settings menu.Choose 'Settings'.Navigate to 'Apps'.Choose 'MatterControl'.Hit 'Clear data'. !Do not click 'Uninstall'!Re-launch MatterControl. If you do not have sensitive data in MatterControl, sending the MatterControl.db or a zip of the MatterControl folder to [email protected] can help us track down bugs and is appreciated.MatterControl Touch will not download an update and Cloud services do not workSometimes the tablet fails to get the correct time from the NTP servers. Without the correct date and time, a TLS connection to MatterHackers cannot be established. Cloud Sync will not work and updates will fail to download. Swipe down from the top left to see the current date and time. If this is not correct you will need to go into the Android settings app (gear icon on home screen) and adjust it accordingly. The tablet has no RTC battery, so the time will be reset whenever you reboot. When I restart my printer, values of Steps per mm return to the firmware's default value. How can I change this?It is likely your printer's firmware does not allow EEPROM to be saved. In order to apply your settings, you can either update your firmware to allow for EEPROM changes or you can add custom G-Code to the "On Connect G-Code" section in MatterControl. Updating firmware requires a fair bit of effort, so it's probably easier to update the custom G-Code. Here's how:In MatterControl, navigate to Settings > Printer > Custom G-Code.In the "On Connect G-Code" box, enterM92 ExxxxSo, if your steps/mm is 194.5, you would enter M92 E194.5. This is case sensitive, so make sure to use capital letters.Once this is done, every time you connect to MatterControl, it will send the proper steps/mm to your printer."Slicing Error" When using Slic3rYou may be able to determine what is going wrong by running Slic3r independently. For every print, MatterControl generates a config.ini file that it provides to the Slic3r executable. This is in ~/.local/share/MatterControl/data/gcode/ on Mac/Linux and C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\MatterControl on Windows. Run Slic3r independently, import this config file, and slice your STL. You will then be able to see if Slic3r gives any error messages. On Windows, the Slic3r executable provided with MatterControl is in C:\Program Files (x86)\MatterControl\Slic3r\bin.I have Intel integrated graphics and MatterControl crashesThere is a known issue with MatterControl and the Windows drivers for certain integrated Intel graphics chipsets. If you are having crashes or graphics related issues, please send an email to [email protected]. Include the following information in your report: The make/model of your computer Your GPU model number Your OS version The version number of your Intel graphics driversIn the meantime, there is a workaround.
