steam is having issues :: Steam Discussions - Steam Community

I may have to later on. BUT WAIT I’M STILL HAVING ISSUES!!!If after all that you’re still having problems then let me relay to you what was sent to me via SE Support[support.na.square-enix.com] Ticket (after sending in a DxDiag). The problem you are having here has something to do with your overall PC configuration. This game utilizes steam for authentication and installation. Steam will install to default locations (usually on the C:/ drive) and if you are coming up with this kind of error, that means there’s a snag or inconsistency with the configuration of your HDD and/or file library. In no way are we passing blame to you or your machine, but we need to clarify that these types of problems do not occur with the large majority of Steam users. It’s pretty much “install and go”. If you are running into this problem, you should completely remove the game and steam from your machine, and allow it to download and install everything over again to its default locations and making sure you have admin rights to the machine. To do this we recommend to first Delete the game from steams library, then remove steam via add/remove programs. (You’ve Already Done All This If You’ve Been Following Along To Now). If this does not work for you, you may want to consult Steam’s KB regarding it’s installing methods. We apologize for the trouble you are having. Steam Knowledge Base, Steam SupportThat last part made me lol. When all else fails they lay the blame on steam and I basically have to go to them to resolve my issues because I guess at that point it’s steams fault. Anyway, that last part was the most noteworthy portion of it. If your still having issues I guess take it to steam and see if they can help you. Otherwise, everything I just wrote out is basically what you’re probably going to get from sending in a support ticket. I just saved you a couple days worth of interaction with SE Support, your welcome.CLOSING THOUGHTS + Square Enix Support Cloud Sync Response-(10/12/2017)CLOSING THOUGHTSThat’s it. I hope this was helpful in getting the game working for you. Whether your a returning player or someone who just bought the game, hopefully, this guide was enough in getting everything working. Steam version of Android released, but it's limited to buying games on Store and accessing other features such as Steam Friends, Steam Community and more...You can download the official Android version here.Known issuesWine, Steam & ntfs-3gntfs-3g is a powerful user-mode driver for Linux which is capable of almost all file operations on NTFS partitions. Sadly, ntfs-3g and/or Wine are currently unable to work with a NTFS-based installation of Steam. Steam will crash with the following error:Steam.exe (main exception): Cannot open blob archive file: CMultiFieldBlob(mem-mapped file): Failed to MapViewOfFileCreating a Symlink to SteamApps on a NTFS partition doesn't work either. Steam will start up, but your GCFs will get corrupted or - if you're lucky - Steam only assumes they are corrupted. So you won't get around having duplicate GCFs for Linux and Windows if you plan on using Steam with both operating systems and having NTFS partitions for Windows, unless you install onto a linux partition from Windows, using something like Ext2 IFS for Windows (in which case you can use the same files in both operating systems).Update: It seems linking gcfs instead of the folder works*Note: This is not an issue with ntfs-3g specifically, but with FUSE, the userspace filesystem toolkit that ntfs-3g is built on. Any FUSE based filesystem driver will cause these same issues (ex: encfs).*Steam and CompositingUsers may experience severe slowdown and lag if they attempt to use Steam under Wine with Compiz installed on their linux machine. The best way to fix this is to run the command:metacity --replaceand then to re-enable:compiz --replaceIt is a good idea to make a launcher for each one, and then run it before you start Steam.KWin has less issues with compositing, but games may run slower if it's turned on. Under KDE, you can toggle KWin compositing with Shift+Alt+F12.Distribution

Controller in disgust."On January 3, 2008, IGN reported that Valve employees had created a thread on Valve's website forums for players to list the problems they had encountered and to suggest fixes, which caused speculation that a patch was being planned to address the issues in the PlayStation 3 version, such as the frame rate issues, the connection problems in Team Fortress 2, and the slow loading times in Portal. A patch for the PlayStation 3 version was later released in North America on March 19, 2008, and Europe a short while after that; however, it made no mention of fixing frame rate issues or slow loading times. It is also one of the only PlayStation games not to have trophies.Region-specific versions[]Valve deactivated accounts with CD keys that were purchased outside of the consumer's territory in order to maintain the integrity of region-specific licensing. This generated complaints from North American customers who had circumvented their Steam end-user license agreement by purchasing The Orange Box through cheaper, Asian retailers. Some customers who then purchased the game a second time from a local vendor experienced difficulty adding the new CD key to their accounts in order to activate their newly-purchased games and also had trouble communicating with Steam's customer support team about this problem. Doug Lombardi of Valve stated, "Some of these users have subsequently purchased a legal copy after realizing the issue and were having difficulty removing the illegitimate keys from their Steam accounts. Anyone having this problem should contact Steam
