Here is my problem with ie9. I have it installed on my netbook which has windows7 Starter and there are no problems. I also have it installed on my desktop with win7 Home Premium. With my desktop I simply can not download anything. When I start to download, I see the bar at the bottom. Regardless of what I select, nothing happens. I then go to the top and click on "View Downloads" and it says, "This program cannot be downloaded." I tried disabling my firewall and that did not help. I then reverted back to IE8 for awhile. I again re-installed ie9 but I have the same problem. I clicked on Internet Options>Security>Custom Level button and scrolled down to downloads to see if it was enabled and it was. 2025-04-09Download internet explorer 8 for windows 7 32 bit Thread starter Thread starter Mr_bob8591 Start date Start date Nov 15, 2012 You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 I want to used Internet Explorer 8 on windows-7 32 bit sysytem and am having trouble finding a link to it. If someone can help please send me the link so I can down load it or any suggestions you may have. Thanks Bob Aug 24, 2012 17,533 2,080 89,240 #2 IE 8 is built-in to Windows 7. If you've installed the IE9 update then all you need to do is uninstall IE9 via 'Control Panel->Programs and Features', select 'View installed updates' in the left column, then locate the entry for 'Internet Explorer 9', right-click on it and choose 'Uninstall'. Your system will be reverted to IE8 at that point. #3 Hi, different guy here with a similar need... sorry if this question is too basic... so I uninstalled IE9, and now I have nothing, no icon... so how do I find/run IE8? I searched C drive for iexplore.exe... found dozens (???), clicked on one, and it tries to "set up IE9".please let a noob know: once IE9 is uninstalled, how would I run IE8? thanks for any help,-Rf #4 So I d/l an IE8 setup .exe for XP... and when I try to install, I get the message:"Internet Explorer 8 is not supported on this operating system"...which is annoying, since it CAME with IE8 originally. I upgraded to 9, then uninstalled 9... but where did 8 go? Something's gone wrong, obviously... I would like to know if there is somewhere I could obtain IE 8 specifically for Win7... not the XP version, or the Vista version (I can find those...) #5 Very similar story as HarrySpider and previous comment, except with a twist:IE 9 was not listed in the Programs / Uninstall list. I had to luckily find a a related link "Turn Windows features on or off". Once I unchecked the IE9 box, I found that the Start button links to both 32 and 64 bit IE9's were gone. Neither of 8 or 9 are listed in the Uninstall list. Now, I can't find IE9 or 8 anywhere on the PC and I can't find a version of IE8 to download anywhere. Would be much obliged if someone could point me to a link for IE8 Windows 7 edition. #6 I had several other issues, so I did a "repair install". It didn't fix everything, but it returned IE8 eventually did a complete "clean install" to get ALL problems fixed. And the PC now runs amazingly well, without all the extra things I never needed... good luck! Advertising Cookies Policies Privacy Term & Conditions Topics
2025-04-10I was forced to rebuild their computers so they can use them. I want to find a solution to this issue so I can solve it if the issue happens again and stop it from happening in the first place. In short, I need to know what causes this issue to happen (ex. update, 3rd party software, etc.) There must be something that connects these three users together but not others. #7 In 64-bit machines the Default IE 8 or 9 should be the 32-bit version. That is the version that runs by default on 64-bit machines. Which version are those users using? Thread starter #8 Im not sure what they were using. How can you tell if you are using the 32 bit or 64 bit version of IE? #9 Where does the IE Shortcut point to? If it is Program Files(x86) then that is 32-bit, if it is just Program Files, that is 64-bit. #10 You said you can't print .pdf files from IE9. Can you print other files or web pages from IE9 ? #11 How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating systemIE9 Internet Explorer has stopped working - when opening a pdf Status Not open for further replies.
